First I rightfully still do not endorse any Christians adds, anyone, any person, any organization, any Church  now trying to make any money from  the gospel, or begging, asking for money or even  any of the adds here.  I also do not endorse any of  Bibles, books, tapes listed here for sale too. Jesus said as we have freely received so we are freely to give. Hirelings in their greed and visible lack of faith don't do that. I do believe we should have the faith for God to supply what anyone needs  freely to anyone who needs it.

THE LATTER-RAIN MOVEMENT

General - Inrroduction

The Latter rain, the Third Day

 Hosea 6:1-2 Come, let us return to the Lord. For he has torn us, but He will heal us; he has wounded us, but He will bandage us. He will revive us after two days; He will raise us up on the third day that we may live before Him.

 "And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days. I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the Lord has said, among the survivors whom the Lord calls." (Joel 2:28-32)

"It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter" (Proverbs 25:2).

(Joel 2:1 KJV)  Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;  2  A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. 3  A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them. 4  The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run. 5  Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array. 6  Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness. 7  They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks: 8  Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded. 9  They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief. 10  The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining: 11  And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it? 12  Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: 13  And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil. 14  Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God? 15  Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: 16  Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. 17  Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God? 18  Then will the LORD be jealous for his land, and pity his people. 19  Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen: 20  But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things. 21  Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things. 22  Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength. 23  Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. 24  And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil. 25  And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. 26  And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. 27  And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed. 28  And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: 29  And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. 30  And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31  The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

 As Christians we have the privilege of understanding the mysteries of the kingdom in which we live. The Lord Jesus Christ made this wonderful statement in Matthew 13:11, "It has been given to you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven."

"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your Redemption draweth nigh" (Luke 21:28).

 "Howbeit when He, the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all Truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you Things To Come" (John 16:13).

Much of what the Old Testament prophets composed by the Spirit's inspiration, was not understood by the prophets themselves, though they faithfully recorded God's message.

"10 Of which Salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when It testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the Gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from Heaven; which things the angels desire to look into" (1Peter 1:10-12).

The mysteries of God are hidden truths; they are secret things that the Lord reveals to those who seek Him.

Amos 3:7,  "Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets."

The revelation of the Third Day Church is one of the mysteries of the kingdom that the Lord is unsealing even  in this present time.  The following is one of the prophetic words that the Lord has spoken about this subject:  "The Lord says, I am indeed bringing you into the Third Day Ministry, and it will be earmarked by the resurrection power of My kingdom.  For, not only have I spoken it in My word, but it has been prophesied to you and preached to you.  It exists within the realm of your spirit man now, for in your spirit man abides eternal life.  Out of that eternal life shall flow forth the power of resurrection, the power of glory that I have desired to bring My people into.  I say unto you that the angels themselves desire to see what I am about to do.”    “The heroes of faith that you have read about in My Word desire to see what you will do with the Third Day anointing and Third Day power.  For, there comes forth a company of redeemed in the manifest presence of My power, and I say to you that the dead shall arise.  I say to you that the blind shall see.  I say to you that the lame shall walk.  I say to you the prison house doors shall be opened, for the gates of hell shall not prevail against My church!  For three days and three nights I was in the belly of hell itself stripping Satan of his authority, and I defeated him there.  Now you shall go forth and complete the work that I have begun by first defeating him in your life and then in the lives of others, for this is the Third Day power of My ministry that I am bringing forth.  So, I say to you, rise up by the Spirit; ascend Zion's hill.  Come to Me with faith and expectation, for I will anoint you with the oil of gladness and the oil of joy.  As I anoint you, My resurrection power shall flow through you, and you will come down from that mountain in the power of the Third Day ministry and the resurrection power that comes forth from Me.  I give it to you, says the Lord God Almighty, for it is within My purpose and My timing.  Now comes the Third Day power of resurrection.  Come into it!"

Both Matthew, Mark, and John record Jesus as saying that he would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days. Matt: 26:61. Mark 14:58 says " We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands". Jesus took a lot of ridicule for these statements. What did he mean? Note this temple will be made "without hands". John 2:19-21 says Jesus answered and said unto them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body". 1Cor.12:27 says, "Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular". The true church is the body of Christ and the temple that he has been building the past two days. The "third day" that temple will be complete and the work of restoring and freeing mankind from the grip if sin and death will go on and be completed.  Jeremiah expresses it in Jer.33:12, "The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the LORD". Many other scriptures could be sighted to express this grand promise. It is our promise from  God. Let us now claim it with joy.

This is the grand "third day". Also Rev. 20:6 says, "Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years". Isaiah mentions this in Is.35:10, "And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away". John speaks of this in Rev.21:6, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away".

Revelation of the Third Day begins with the understanding that a prophetic day is equal to 1,000 literal years.  This concept is given to us by the Apostle Peter in 2 Peter 3:8, "But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."

The context for this verse is established in verses 3 through 7 and has to do with the creation of the world.  We know from the Genesis account that God created the earth in six days and rested on the seventh day.  If a prophetic day is equal to 1,000 years, then the six days in which God created the earth is equated to 6,000 years of time.  The seventh day is the beginning of the seventh millennium of rest.

The seventh prophetic day is mentioned in 2 Peter 3:10 and is referred to as the Day of the Lord.  The reason that God the Father ceased from His works upon completion of the sixth day is that the seventh day was to be completed by His Son, Jesus Christ.  This thousand-year period of time is referred to in Revelation 20:6, "They (the saints of God) shall be priests of God and of Christ and shall reign with Him a thousand years."

Many bible teachers dispute the theory that the passage of scripture in 2 Peter can be applied prophetically.  However, there is further evidence that supports this idea found in the epistle of Barnabas, believed to have been written shortly after the destruction of the temple in 70 AD.  Barnabas was most likely the Apostle Paul's companion who went with Paul to Antioch.

  Acts 11:25-26  "Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul.  And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch."

This is what Barnabas wrote in chapter 15, verses 1 through 5:  "Furthermore, concerning the Sabbath it is also written, in the Ten Words; which he spoke to Moses face to face on Mount Sinai:  And sanctify the Lord's Sabbath, with clean hands and a clean heart.  And in another place he says:  If my sons guard the Sabbath, then I will bestow my mercy upon them.  He speaks of the Sabbath at the beginning of the creation:  And God made the works of his hands in six days and finished on the seventh day, and rested on it, and sanctified it.  Observe, children, what he finished in six days means.  It means this:  that in six thousand years the Lord will bring everything to an end, for with him a day signifies a thousand years.  Therefore, children, in six days--that is, in six thousand years everything will be brought to an end.  And He rested on the seventh day.  This means:  When His Son comes, He will destroy the time of the lawless one...."

  We have just entered into the seventh millennium, which is the seventh day of God from creation.  This covers the years 4000 BC to 1 BC, which is 4,000 years, and it includes the 2,000 years from Christ's birth in 1 BC to 2000 AD, which is 2,000 years.  Thus, we have the six prophetic days of God, which is equal to 6,000 literal years.

  The Seventh Day of God and the Third Day of Christ both began in the year 2000 AD. The Third Day of Christ is calculated from 1 BC to 2000 AD which is 2,000 years or two prophetic days.

In context with the scriptures that we used in 2 Peter, chapter 3, to establish the concept of the six days of creation equaling 6,000 years, we have another reveal-ing scripture.

  2 Peter 3:2, "That you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets."
  The prophet that reveals the Third Day of Christ is Hosea.

  Hosea 6:1-3,   "Come, and let us return to the LORD; for He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up.  After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His sight.  Let us know; let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, like the latter and former rain to the earth."

  Some have asked, "How do you know that the timing of this scripture has to do with the birth of Christ rather than the crucifixion; after all Jesus was resurrected on the third day?"  My answer is because the next prophetic scripture in Hosea has to do with Jesus, Bethlehem's child.

Hosea 11:1,  "When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called My son."

  This scripture is referred to in Matthew 2:15, "And was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, 'Out of Egypt I called My Son.' "

Also the Seventh Day of God and the Third Day of Christ must coincide in order for both to be the Day of the Lord.

The first partial fulfilling of Hosea 6:1-3 took place when Jesus arose from the dead on the third day.  However, He has not yet raised the church up in the rapture to live in His sight.  He must first come to the church, to the earth, like the latter and former rain before He comes for His church to take it from the earth.

Hosea chapter 6, verses 1-3, gives the church some glorious promises:

1.                 Restoration is promised for the Third Day.  The promise for returning to the Lord, our First Love, is that He will revive us and heal us and bind up our wounds.

  2.                 He will raise us up at the time of the rapture, but before that He will raise some up in Spirit, in His sight, and give them revelation knowledge of His end-time plans.  I had a dream that startled me.  It was so real.  I was in church talking to someone about the Holy Spirit.  I said that we have to get past the mind into the realm of the Spirit, and when I said the word "Spirit" the church began to fill up with the glory of God to the extent that I could not see anybody.  It began to move me at accelerated speed in an upward fashion that jolted me awake.  It seemed very real and was tangible.  He is going to so captivate us in the power of His Spirit.  He is going to elevate us in heavenly realms where we receive revelation from God, marching orders from God, mandates from God, and we will go speedily to the places that God sends us to carry out His work as His ambassadors.  And, the Lord says, "On the Third Day I will raise you up into My presence so that you can see Me face to face, that you might receive that which I have spoken to you.  You will have revelation knowledge and never again be confined to the natural realm or move by what is natural.  But, you will have seen, and you will have heard spiritually that which gives direction.  In that direction, you will make haste and speedily you shall go forth.  My purposes are now being established in all of the earth.  The times of redemption are now coming to a place of completion."

  3.                 He will come to us like the rain of the Spirit, a double-portion anointing.  The former rain represents the anointing of the Old Testament prophets.  The latter rain represents the anointing of the apostles.

4.                 His coming forth is a set time established as the morning, a new day, the Third Day.  Psalm 110 declares that this day will come forth in the beauty of holiness from the "womb of the morning."  It will be the day of His power when the rod of His strength, His authority, will be sent forth from His church, Zion.  His word to His people is, "Rule in the midst of your enemies."

The Third Day is a day of victory.  Hallelujah!  It is the day of the Master's power in which He will give His church the gift of faith.  As we are lifted up into His presence, the Author of our faith will quicken us, and a new dimension of faith will be given.  The following is a word the Lord gave me:

  “Shall not My Third Day Church walk in a dimension of glorious faith?  Faith that extends beyond the normal, faith without measure that is yours by inheritance, faith that will lift you, faith that will compel you, faith that will reveal unto you the knowledge of the Lord, faith that will magnify Me as I work through you as witnesses in the world to heal the sick, raise the dead, and cast out demons.  I have given the Spirit of faith to you today that you might be moved on the wings of faith according to the gift of the faith of the Holy Ghost that you might be elevated in your believing and your ability and potential to receive according to covenant promise all that I have for you.  You would say,   ‘Why?’  I would simply say, because it is time!  It is the day of the resurrection power, which is the earmark of the Third Day, and now it will begin to flow forth as I magnify Myself in My people, and I must magnify Myself in My people before I can magnify Myself through My people.  For, you must be brought to new levels of faith and understanding, new levels of wisdom by which your faith operates.  I say unto you today, take a step up in the Spirit.  Launch out into the deep.  Move where you have never moved before.  Release your spirit and let it come before My throne to receive the witness of the Holy Ghost that you might be elevated, never again to return to that low level of faith that you have demonstrated in the earth before.  Come, My people!  Come and receive.  Come and enjoy My presence.  Come and receive the gift of faith."

Galatians 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ:  nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me, and the life which I now life in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.”  (KJV) "

 The Holy Spirit and the Latter rain, the Third Day

Hosea 6:1-2 Come, let us return to the Lord. For he has torn us, but He will heal us; he has wounded us, but He will bandage us. He will revive us after two days; He will raise us up on the third day that we may live before Him.

2 Peter 3:8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

"Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy, however, is for believers, not for unbelievers. So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and some who do not understand or some unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind? But if an unbeliever or someone who does not understand comes in while everybody is prophesying, he will be convinced by all that he is a sinner and will be judged by all, and the secrets of his heart will be laid bare. So he will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, ‘God is really among you!’" (1 Corinthians 14:22-25)

“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire….” Matthew 3:11

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.”  John 16:7 (Jesus Christ) John 14:16, John 14:26, 15:26

“And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Act 1:4-8

For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." (Revelation 19:10)

"But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you." (John 16:13,14)

"But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.... "When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me." (John 14:26; 15:26)

look at the Bible’s explanation of the testimony of Jesus. Please review the following references:

1. Revelation 1:1,2 "The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ."

2. Revelation 1:9 "I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus."

3. Revelation 12:17 "Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring – those who obey God’s commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus."

4. Revelation 19:10 "At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, ‘Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.’ "

The Unfolding of the Holy Spirit is directly related to the unfolding of Jesus Christ the Messiah and his WORDS.

"I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me – just as the Father knows me and I know the Father – and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd."  (John 10:14-16)

Unlike in the Old testament where the Holy spirit came upon certain persons, now the Holy Sprit can rest upon all of the Christians.

The Bible unfolds the doctrine of the Holy Spirit;

first, by way of depicting His mighty works; and

second, by giving teachings concerning His nature and activities.

1.The Holy spirit is the creative power of God, possessing and inspiring humans;

    Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you.  1 Corinthians 3:16

    Now the Lord is that Spirit: And where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 2 Corinthians 3:17

    For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God Rom. 8: 14

    Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: For we know not what we should pray for as we ought:

    But the Spirit itself makes intercession for us, with groanings which cannot be uttered.

    And he that searches the heart know, what is the mind of the Spirit,

    Because She makes intercessions for the saints, according to the will of God. Rom. 8: 26-27

 12. A quasi-physical force in the form of wind;

    But knowest not whence it comes and where it goes; thus is every one that is born of the Spirit. John 3:8

3. The personal activity of God Himself;

    Cast me not away from Thy presence, and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.   Psalms 51:11

4. The Spirit of God;

    And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

    And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Genesis 1:2

    Then said Mary unto the angel, how shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

    And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost will come unto thee:

    Therefore also that holy thing that shall be born of thee, shall be called the Son of God." Luke 1:34-35

    For what man knows the things of man, save the spirit of man which is in him?

    Even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God.

    Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God;

    That we may know the things that are freely given to us of God.

    Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches,

    But which the Holy Ghost teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 1 Corinthians 2: 13

5. The inner principal in the ‘new life’ in Christ;

    The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because She hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor;

    She hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives,

    And recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised Luke 4:18

6. A supreme Spirit in prophecy;

    For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:

    But holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Peter 1:21

7. The Spirit which baptizes;

    For John truly baptized with water;
    But ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost, not many days hence. Acts1: 5

8. The mode of God’s activity in history;

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father,

Even the Spirit of Truth, which proceeds from the Father, She shall testify of Me.  John 15:26

9. The living energy of a personal God;

But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God is come unto you. Mat. 12:28

10. The breath of the Almighty;

    By the Word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. Psalms 33: 6

    The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty has given me life. Job 33: 4

    Thou sendest forth Thy Spirit, they are created: and Thou renewest the face of the earth. Psalms 104: 30

    The grass withers, the flowers fade: Because the Spirit of the Lord blows upon it. Isaiah 40:7

11. The Spirit in supernatural endowments of ethical and spiritual understanding;

    I have heard of thee that the Spirit of the Gods is in thee,

    And the Light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee. Daniel 51:14

    And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of Wisdom and understanding,

    The Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of Knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. Isaiah 11: 2

    But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man, to profit withal.

    For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; To another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

    To another faith by the same Spirit; To another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

    To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; To another discerning of spirits;

    To another diverse kinds of tongues; To another the interpretation of tongues;

    But all these worketh that one and selfsame Spirit. 1. Corinthians 11: 7-11

12. The Spirit of wisdom and judgement;

    But there is a Spirit in man: And the inspiration of Almighty gives them understanding.

    Great men are not always wise: Neither do the aged understand judgement Job 32:8-9

    Turn you at My reproof: Behold, I will pour out My Spirit unto you, I will make known My Words unto you. Proverbs 1:23

13. The mode of human communion with God;

    And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh;

    And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams,

    Your young men shall see visions, and also upon the servants and upon the handmaidens,

    In those days will I pour out My Spirit. Joel 2:28-29

14. The mode of transmitting God’s revelation to humans;

    The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord has anointed me,

    To peach good tidings unto the meek; He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted,

    To proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.  Isaiah 61:1

15. The Spirit which liberates;

    Now the Lord if that Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.  2 Corinthians 3:17

16. The Spirit which brings renewal;

    Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us,

    By the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.  Titus 3: 5

17. The Spirit which brings hope;

    And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts,

    By the Holy Spirit which is given unto us.   Rom. 5:5

    Now may the God of hope fill you with all the joy,

    And peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

18. The Spirit which comforts;

I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter,

That may abide with you forever.   John 14: 16

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father,

Even the Spirit of Truth which preceedeth from the Father, She shall testify of me.

And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.       John 15: 26-27

"The Spirit of God in the Old Testament

The Old Testament has many references to the Spirit's work in men of God. "The Spirit of God came upon" such men as Gideon and Samson. He "came mightily upon" Saul and David at their respective anointings as king. Oil anointing became the symbol of Spirit anointing. Bezaleel and Micah were filled with the Spirit. The Spirit "entered into," and "fell upon," Ezekiel. He instructed, warned, spoke, gave rest, and could be grieved. Concerning exiled Israel God predicted, "I will put my spirit within you." He also assured them, "My spirit remaineth among you." How marvelously identical are all these manners of activities with His acts after Pentecost!

The Promise of the Spirit

The author of Psalm 2 evidently saw in Nathan's promise of a son to David the prediction of a far greater Son who in the fullest sense would be God's Anointed. Of this One, Isaiah predicted, "The spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him." The Servant of the Lord Himself said, "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me."

In the days of the Messiah, God declared, "I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh" Joel 2:28; cf. Isa. 32:15; 44:3; Ezek. 37:14; 39:29). "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you and cause you to walk in my statutes" (Ezek. 36:26, 27).

The Holy Spirit in Christ

The quickening power of the Holy Spirit effected the conception of Jesus in the womb of the Virgin Mary. The descent of the Spirit upon Jesus was the Baptist's sign for knowing that Jesus was the One who baptizes with the Holy Spirit. This descent of the Spirit John witnessed at Jesus' baptism. God gave the Spirit to Christ in unlimited measure, for immediately Jesus was "full of the Holy Spirit," and was "led by the Spirit." In the temptation Jesus withstood Satan through the power of the Spirit and so "returned in the power of the Spirit."

By reading "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me" Jesus claimed to be the Servant of the Lord. Jesus' healing ministry fulfilled another Servant of the Lord prediction in which God had said, "I will put my spirit upon him." Charged with casting out demons by Beelzebub, Jesus remonstrated that this work was done by the Spirit of God. His accusers were blaspheming the Holy Spirit--a sin which will never be forgiven.

The language, "Christ . . . through the eternal Spirit offered himself," may mean that the Holy Spirit empowered Christ to give Himself as a sacrifice. Finally by the resurrection Jesus was "designated Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness." All this proves that Jesus did all things through the power of the Spirit.

Jesus' Teaching on the Holy Spirit

The familiar scenes and discourses found in John's Gospel are the chief source of Jesus' teaching on the Holy Spirit. Unless one is born anew, born of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. The Spirit is the life-giver to those who believe on the Son of man. In answer to Jesus' prayer the Father will send another parakietos (Comforter, Counselor, Advocate, Helper). This one is the Spirit of truth. He is a companion dwelling by our side and within us. He will convince the world of sin and will guide the believer into all truth.

Jesus spoke finally of baptism in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Paul wrote in similar trinitarian language in his benediction in (2 Cor 13:14 KJV)  The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

The Outpouring of the Spirit

On the day of Pentecost, God poured out His Spirit upon all the assembled believers. God vouchsafed this miracle by the accompanying gift of speaking in other tongues. These miraculous credentials were also present at the outpouring of the Spirit upon the Samaritans and the Gentiles. Peter interpreted the Pentecost event as the fulfillment of Joel's prophecy. The "last days" of the prophets had come!

Apostolic Teaching on the Spirit

In Galatians and Romans, Paul related the work of the Spirit to personal Christian experience. The Holy Spirit poured God's love into our hearts. We now serve God in the new life of the Spirit. The new law of the Spirit has to do with life found alone in Christ, In view of the antagonism between the desires of the flesh and the desires of the Spirit we should walk by the Spirit. By this walk the fruit of the Spirit becomes manifest.

This walk requires the setting of the mind on the things of the Spirit. It involves the indwelling of the Spirit. He who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. It is by the Spirit that we put to death the deeds of the body. All who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. Because we are soils, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba, Father." We who have the first fruits of the Spirit are waiting for adoption as sons. The Spirit also helps us in prayer.

In other epistles Paul dealt more with the workings of the Spirit in the church. His own ministry was a demonstration of the Spirit and power. He imparted a secret and hidden wisdom of God by a revelation through the Spirit. The saints are God's temple and God's Spirit dwells in them. Even the body is a temple for the Spirit's indwelling. Only by the Spirit is one able to say, "Jesus is Lord."

The Spirit bestows a great variety of spiritual gifts which are apportioned to each one individually as He wills. Saints are a letter from Christ written with the Spirit of the living God. God qualified Paul to be a minister of the new covenant in the Spirit.

To the apostles and prophets the Spirit revealed the mysteries concerning the church. Believers should be eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. In the believers' spiritual welfare God strengthens them with might through His Spirit in the inner man. Their great offensive weapon is the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.

Saints are warned not to quench the Spirit. God chose them from the beginning to be saved through the sanctification by the Spirit. It is a salvation by the washing of regeneration and renewal in the Spirit. If those who have once been enlightened and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit commit apostasy, it is impossible to restore them again to repentance.

The Holy Spirit was the empowering agent in the use of the Scriptures. Note Peter's descriptive language introducing a quotation: "The Lord by the mouth of David spoke by the Holy Spirit." In definitive language Peter wrote, "No prophecy ever came by the impulse of man, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God."

The History of the Charismatic Movement

Introduction: How any one still can accurately try to define this vast live Christian Holy Spirit movement really is beyond me.  And just  cause a self proclaimed or a so called expert now  has even a whole page of supposed facts does not make them the whole truth now still too. Religious wars and their related abuses, lies, distortions  still exists, even the wars amongst the Baptist, Brethren and the Catholics,  Pentecostals and the others now as well.. There are always divisions in all of the religions now world wide too.  So we can still only get partial historical truths.. depending on the agenda, hidden or not  of the writers now too. Not all writers even the religious one are honest as you all should cleanly note, know by now..

Now to continue although I am now a non denominational clearly "Born from above" Christian person, who has been a Baptist, Mennonite and Plymouth Brethren, Christian Missionary Alliance, Pentecostal supporter, I found finally the "Latter day movement" was the one that God  finally led me too and that I have supported the most.. including the "Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship". One is not a Christian too long before one discovers that there are so many really different Christian denominations all claming to be the only true one now too..  The Christian Denominations also to me can be at least graded from grade 1 to 12 .
Reality Check: It is also still amazing to me how the basic Christians issues, doctrines  are so commonly discussed  and yet too often they still really are personally unknown still, including the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Too many people still personally have wrong priorities, not enough love for God and his truths too. Most even supposedly older professing Christians they really do not know the whole Bible, they really do not read it fully for themselves as well. Not really surprising when the average Christian, many Church elders now included too,  spend less than 5 minutes a day in the Bible now too.. Too many persons they wrongfully expect their even  too often wrong, false teachers, pastors to do that for them. Sadly today also too many a church is still based on cultural or human traditions and really not on God or the Bible in fact. Such is the unacceptable reality theses days too.

(Jer 2:2 KJV)  Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

(Hosea 3:1 KJV)  Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

(Mat 24:12 KJV)  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

(Luke 11:42 KJV)  But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

(Eph 3:19 KJV)  And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

(1 Tim 6:10 KJV)  For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

(1 John 2:15 KJV)  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

(1 John 3:16 KJV)  Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

(1 John 3:17 KJV)  But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

(1 John 4:9 KJV)  In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

(Jude 1:21 KJV)  Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

(1 Cor 14:39 KJV)  Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. 40  Let all things be done decently and in order.

Once a person has been personally now accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, note both, they will next be baptized with the Holy Spirit, and clearly he or she will start becoming a different person. This generally will happen in two different ways:

-The Holy Spirit will continually empower the believer with new abilities, called "The Gifts of the Holy Spirit." These gifts enable the believer to do the Lord's work in new and sometimes miraculous ways. Think of them as "birthday gifts" in honor of their new birth but they are also gifts to equip one to service Christ and the body of Christ much better . The gift of the Holy spirit themselves are never an adequate substitute for having the fruit of the Holy spirit now too

- As the believer next also makes daily conscious choices to submit to the gentle leading of the indwelling Holy Spirit, the believer's character is changed. The resulting visible new character traits are called "The Fruit of the Spirit" - . The fruit of the Holy spirit themselves are never an adequate substitute for having the gifts of the Holy spirit now too

Here is another reality check: If you have not experienced these significant Spiritual empowering, changes in your life after you became a Christian, you are either not a real Christian, or you are still trying to run your own life without God, you are doing your own thing without God, and Jesus is really not the sole Lord of your life, for you really yet have not died to money, self, the world, the flesh and the devil.

Although Pentecostal experiences can be found throughout the history of Christianity, the modern Pentecostal Charismatic movement was born with the present century. It was the last stage of a process of spiritual renewal begun by John Wesley in 18th-century England and developed in the United States throughout the 19th century by the Holiness Movement.  The western world Pentecostalism generally also traces its roots back to the teachings and experiences of Edward Irving, a Presbyterian Minister in Scotland in the early 1800's. After studying the Book of Acts he began to teach that what the early church experienced was to be normative for the church in his day. He was excommunicated from the traditional  Presbyterian Church over his supposedly heretical Christological doctrines. The sudden manifestation of spiritual power in the Azusa St Mission in Los Angeles in 1906 is generally regarded as the birth of the modern Pentecostal movement. Pentecostalism is Holy spirit-driven, whereas the initial Protestant reform movement was supposedly ‘Word (Bible) driven’.

Like one also is not a Christian before one notice the vast difference between fundamental Christians,  the non Pentecostals, in particularly between the Pentecostals- Charismatics.. and the great difference lies also in the aspects, emphasis  of the Holy Spirit, Spiritual Gifts, prayer, Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the gifted Church members, offices too... such as even Apostles, Prophets.. and there are differences even on the issue of eternal security.. While both sides still now do even claim to believe the Bible is the word of God, they seem to explain it all very differently... and the problem to me it seems is that clearly one group is doing it mostly in their own wisdom, not in God's, for they are not allowing the Holy Spirit to guide,  to teach them, but rather the flesh, mere men and the devil.. but next each one says that the other group is doing this.. to me the same professing Christian group that has a very low emphasis on the Holy Spirit is the one in error.

The Pentecostal - Charismatic movement is very clearly diverse but in addition to the key beliefs common to all Christians, they tend to believe:
  • Individuals need to make a personal commitment to faith and through this the presence of the Holy Spirit will become manifest in them. The Holy Spirit will most often be present through speaking in tongues, but other supernatural phenomena are also possible.
  • The experience of adult baptism is also one of the central rites.
  • Scripture is interpreted literally. So is the personal Living by faith in God alone to supply all of one's needs.
  • The style of Church worship, servcies ares active,  marked by Amens, praises, clapping, chorusing, contemporary music and dynamic preaching.
  • Pentecostals - Charismatics also do   believe in personal Healing and deliverance.
  • The Pentecostals - Charismatic  tend to be characterized by much prayer, abundant worship, and abundant prayer meetings, the evangelization of others.
  • The Pentecostal/Charismatic movement has been a powerhouse for world missions and giving as well.
  • Helping one another, especially the poor people is a visible rite in the dynamic Pentecostals - Charismatic churches.
  • Like other denominations some persons do also become falsely preoccupied with secular materialism too
I also do still find it quite humorous, and ironic that the fundamental EVANGELICAL Christians who are well known for their staunch support and belief of eternal salvation security of believers, even the fundamental Baptists and the Plymouth Brethren groups, they  generally do rationalize that the professing Christians who behave like non Christians were, are  never saved in the first place.. they also still do need to see themselves firstly even  in that light now too.. there was no doubt that the bad Judas the Apostle, one of the 12 , was saved too? These same  people who to me really are not honest, they too often really do not rightfully divide the word of truth too, for  they do still now support wrongfully the concept of eternal salvation and  are generally the very same persons clearly ignorant of the Holy Spirit's spiritual gifts,  they do wrongfully oppose them mostly, they do falsely deny their existence today too. How they can now claim to be so biblically right in one are and so biblically wrong in another area now too is a vivid unacceptable contradiction on their own parts now too. They are likely too often still carnal themselves.. Let's be clear,  false Pride in Self cause many people to do wrong, sinful things.. and it even makes them wrongfully think they are doing God's will, serving God but in reality they are serving the devil even in the  fundamental Evangelical, Pentecostal circles now too

Also at any point in our Christian life we can decide to turn back, to choose the things of the world rather than the things of God and heaven. 50 percent of all of the once loudly professing Christians I know eventually do fall away from the Lord, deliberately chose not to follow after him anymore, mainly cause they have a desire to get rich or to experience more of the pleasure of this world..

 (Luke 17:32 KJV)  Remember Lot's wife. 33  Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. 34  I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. 35  Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 36  Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Let me first also say that  it is also  absurd, a false extreme to say that the New Testament Church, the rightful Church of today, it  has no visible structure or set gifted offices in the church, today, or in the New Testament now as well.  Let us also all stop here and remember that anyone following the right Church structure and themselves not being Baptized and led now by the Holy Spirit is still also  real waste of time. And without the real application of love any Church form, approach will still fail too and this applies to any of the traditional churches now too.

Now according to some of the others.. what began on a corner at the turn of the twentieth century is now still barreling down Main Street. Pentecostalism, Charismatics has tended towards growth around individuals, God has often used indivuals with a strong personal faith  in the Bible too, and Pentecostalism has tended towards the creation of independent, breakaway or new movements, rather than strong religious  associations or past institutional forms.

An important extension of the first Pentecostal  movement has been neo-Pentecostalism, or charismatic renewal, which has seen a new emphasis on the Holy Spirit’s power and work in the believer take root in all major Christian denominations. Most dynamic, true Christian churches will incorporate a charismatic renewal movement. The Pentecostal movement has traditionally been closely aligned with strong charismatic individuals, and seemed to arise independently in the UK, Australia, India, South African and the USA. Pentecostalism has expanded rapidly since the 1960s, and is one of the fastest-growing Christian movements in many countries, including Australia. What was once known as the Pentecostal movement has now expanded into numerous diverse, yet overlapping movements: Pentecostal, Charismatic, Vineyard, Word-Faith.  Some of their churches too are a one man ministry lead church, supposedly congregational in governance, whereas others are led by the elders..

  While the Charismatic Movement has taken on wings during the twentieth century, some similar views and manifestations can be firstly also found  throughout history:

    "Several of the early church fathers mention glossolalia in the church. Irenaeus (d.c. 200) and Tertullian (d. 200) speak favorably of it, Chrysostom (d. 407) disapproved, and Augustine (d. 430) declared that the gift was only for New Testament times. The Montanist movement of the late second century included prophetesses, claims of new revelation, speaking in tongues, and an ascetical and legalistic outlook; the movement was declared heretical by the official Catholic - Orthodox church and speaking in tongues seems to have been hidden in the church after this time.

     "During the middle ages speaking in tongues were reported in monasteries of the Orthodox church. In the seventeenth century it seems to have been practiced in France amongst the Huguenots (Protestants) and the Jansenists (pietistic Catholics). In the nineteenth century glossolalia was practiced in America amongst the Shakers and Mormons, and in Scotland and London amongst the followers of Edward Irving, who saw this as the latter-rain outpouring of the Holy Spirit prior to the pre-millennial return of the Lord."

  Two things can come to mind today when one hears the term "charismatic."

-Some People do think of a group of people hungry for the Lord, walking in the power of the Spirit, spiritual in worship, aggressive in evangelism, and abounding in love and good works too....

-The Charismatic movement is one of the fast growing Christian movements world wide  has a strong emphasis on the Holy Spirit has  grown rapidly, and it has become very vast

  Nevertheless, many of  the majority of professing Christians who are viewed as "charismatic," i.e., Oral Roberts, Larry Lea, Earl Paulk, Dick Iverson, Kenneth Copeland, Kenneth Hagin, Bob Tilton, etc., are proclaiming today that the past "charismatic movement" is over and God's "new move" is underway. Bill Hammon, a revered "modern prophet" in the charismatic community, says:"The 'Joshua Generation' is leading forth, and the priestly pastors are carrying the ark of God's restorational presence across Jordan. The journey of the charismatic movement has fulfilled its purpose of bringing the church to its Jordan River. Now the cloud by day and the fire by night have been taken away, and the prophets and prophetic ministers have arisen to provide protection, direction and timing for the church's moving. ... The prophets, however, are seeing on the horizon of God's purpose for His church, a restorational wave of such incomprehensibly gigantic proportions -- like a thousand-foot tidal wave -- that it staggers the imagination and faith of both those who have prophetically seen it and those who have heard of it. It will be greater than all previous restoration movements combined."

  This new restorational movement advocated by most current charismatics has generated a groundswell of charismatic leaders to open themselves up to "new spiritual revelations" and "deeper doctrinal truths." The theological menu served in most charismatic churches today is filled with old and new novel ideas, new doctrinal teachings, and new  practices.  While there are some basic differences existing between new movements arising among charismatics, their overall theological outlook (e.g., the restoration of modern apostles and prophets) and eschatological direction is the same. It is to uplift Jesus alone and not mere men and women, denominations.

The New Charismatics are proclaiming that a new supernatural move of God's Spirit is sweeping the entire globe. This new move will be so revolutionary that the entire course of human history will soon be changed. But in order for this glorious dream to work, they tend to belive the majority of the Christian churches must spirutally unite inder the leading of the Holy Spirit in philosophy and purpose. Therefore, one of the goals of the New Charismatics is to make charismatics and non-charismatics (and non-Christians as well), "New Charismatics." In other words, charismatics subscribing to new restoration ideas deeply desire that all believers will taste this "new move" of the Holy Spirit and unite with them in their efforts to supernaturally transform the world. This is a work of the Holy Spirit.

  Most Pentecostals do refer to this thriving new development expanding throughout the world as "Restorations" or "Latter-Rain restorations." They believe that history is moving toward a spiritual climax where God's power through the Holy spirit will be poured out on the church like never before. Restoration promoters believe that this new move could be the Lord's final move where the church will be endued with new power to Christianize the world before Jesus returns. In order for this dominion pursuit to be realized, the five-fold ministry expounded in Eph. 4:11 (apostle, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers) needs to be recognized by the Church at large and given room to exercise their supernatural gifts and God-ordained authority.

  Some contemporary restoration movements that may fall under the umbrella term "The New Charismatics" are: Kingdom Theology, popularized by the nebulous Bishop/prophet, Earl Paulk; the Word-Faith/Positive Confession Movement led by faith teachers like Kenneth Hagin and Kenneth Copeland; and the Third Wave or Signs and Wonders movement, popularized by controversial Vineyard pastor, John Wimber. These groups have a common bond that promotes God's moving in a new supernatural way through signs and wonders, that the church must be restored to first century apostolic Christianity before Jesus returns, and that modern apostles and prophets will play a key role in this process. To understand new developments and teachings spreading through the charismatic world, it is necessary to go back in history to briefly examine some of the influential "higher life" movements of the twentieth century, beginning with Pentecostalism. Tracing the origins of these movements will give a better insight into how certain teachings originated and developed over the years

  THE PENTECOSTAL EXPLOSION

  The Azuza Street revival of 1906-13 was the launching pad for a worldwide Pentecostal renewal. The main feature of this Pentecostal outpouring was the "baptism with the Holy Spirit," an experience subsequent to salvation, which is evidenced by speaking in other tongues. This was the crown jewel restored by what many called the "second Pentecost." There were, however, spiritual flashes that preceded Azuza, which prepared the way for its inauguration. On January 1, 1901, in Topeka, Kansas, Agnes Ozman, a student at Charles Parham's Bethel Bible School, spoke in tongues. Sometime later, Parham himself had the same experience and from then on preached that all believers who sought the tongues experience diligently would be recipients of the blessing. Most recognize Parham as the founder of the Pentecostal movement.

  Parham, an avid holiness preacher, was nurtured in the culture of religious experience. In his search for something more, tongues became the celebrated encounter filling that void. In 1905, a zealous black holiness preacher by the name of William J. Seymour came under the tutelage of Parham in Alvin, Texas, a few miles south of Houston. It wasn't long before Seymour received the tongues experience and took the Pentecostal message to Azuza Street in Los Angeles. While there were spiritual ignitings before the flame reached Azuza, it was there that the flame turned white hot and began to spread all over the world. After Parham and Seymour received tongues experiences, they began an ambitious effort to spread what they believed to be the restoration of a glorious apostolic doctrine: the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Parham taught that Christ's return would occur on the heels of a worldwide Latter-Rain revival in which the Holy Spirit would restore miraculous gifts generating a great end time harvest.

  Nevertheless, Pentecostalism stands as a classic restoration movement spawning several new sister movements that view the church as returning to her New Testament glory. The classic restoration motif of Pentecostalism that allegedly brought a greater hunger for spiritual reality was the "baptism with the Holy Spirit" evidenced by speaking in tongues.

  THE NEO-PENTECOSTAL DELIVERANCE REVIVAL

  One of the notably significant,  phenomena to powerfully emerge with Pentecostalism is the doctrine and ministry of divine healing. Since the latter half of the nineteenth century, the practice of healing existed in America. But energizing Pentecostalism nourished independent evangelists who brought a "new" emphasis to the healing arena that attracted a popular following. The significance of the deliverance (healing) revival,   a concept of salvation that includes health and healing as an essential part of deliverance for the believer.

  Many of today's "televangelists" have adopted the melodramatic preaching styles of the deliverance revivalists of the mid-twentieth-century and many other Preachers follow the style set by DL Moody..

  THE LATTER-RAIN MOVEMENT

  Three pioneers at the forefront of the Deliverance Revival were William Branham, Oral Roberts, and Gordon Lindsey. These men bore remarkably different personalities, but were unquestionably the fuel that kept the revival running. Branham ignited the revival, stirring crowds with apparent miracles and prophetic abilities. Roberts was the popularizer with his heart-tugging message that God is good and wills that His people prosper and be healed. He was the first to bring healing crusades inside the homes of millions who had never been exposed to the healing message by initiating a national weekly television program.

  The Latter-Rain movement was  united by their fierce opposition to mainline denominations. This meteoric movement created quite a stir among Pentecostal denominations, like the Assemblies of God, and boasted of being a fresh revival displacing the "apostatized" Pentecostals. While its impact was on a small scale, its effects were nevertheless felt world-wide, and it became one of the several catalysts for the Charismatic Movement of the 1960s, the Independent Charismatic Movement (Word-Faith/Positive Confession charismatics) of the 1970s and the New Charismatics surfacing in the 1980s and 1990s. In reaction to the spiritual dryness existing in Pentecostal circles, the "New Order of the Latter-Rain" viewed itself as a refreshing oasis returning to the "full gospel" of the first-century church.

  The doctrinal system of the Latter-Rain included the Pentecostalism's baptism of the Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues and the New Pentecostal deliverance revivals with a miraculous healing thrust. Nothing wrong with that too.

But the fiery movement had its own distinctives as well. There were primarily seven new teachings that shaped the Latter-Rain:

  Restorationism  --  This further development of restoration theology viewed God as progressively restoring truths to the whole church since the Reformation.

  Fivefold Ministry  --  The teaching that God is restoring apostles and prophets to the church to function with the three other gifted offices: evangelists, pastors, and teachers (Eph. 4:11). Apostles and prophets provided direction with new revelations that would play a major role in paving the way for Christ's second coming.

  Laying on of the Hands  --  An act performed by modern belivers,  apostles and prophets to impart the Holy Spirit and other spiritual blessings and gifts, healings as well

  Prophecy  --  Views the practice of "personal prophecy" as being restored to the church. Prophecy would no longer be restricted to general words of exhortation, but would include personal detailed revelations for guidance and instruction.

  Recovery of True Worship  --  The belief that God's manifested presence is not dependent upon a certain order of worship and involves singing in tongues, clapping, shouting, singing prophecies, and  praise dancing. Kind David himself danced before the Lord.

  Immortalization of the Saints  --  The belief that those believers moving in the truth of Latter-Rain restoration, not necessarily all in the church, will attain an immortal state before Jesus returns?

  Unity of the Faith  --  The doctrine that the church,  overcomers, will attain unity in the faith before Christ returns. Why anone one opposes this is beyond me unless they serve the Devil..

  THE OLD CHARISMATICS

  Most historians seem to date the beginning of the present charismatic movement itself as of April 3, 1960. On this day, "Father" Dennis Bennett of St. Mark's Episcopal parish in Van Nuys, California, announced to his congregation that he had received the fullness and power of the Holy Spirit, and how this accompanied "speaking in unknown tongues." After receiving much opposition, Bennett resigned from his position at St. Mark's and accepted an invitation to become vicar of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Seattle, Washington, which grew to be one of the strongest charismatic churches in the Northwest. For a decade, it was one of the major centers from which speaking in tongues would spread worldwide, especially in the mainline denominations.

  The significance of the Charismatic Movement resides in the penetration of the Pentecostal tongues practice into mainline denominations. This created a new openness to the full range of spiritual gifts listed in I Corinthians 12:8-10 (wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues, and interpretation of tongues) that had never been there before. Certainly not all mainline churches supported this new movement, but thousands of people inside mainline churches were experiencing "speaking in tongues" and other spiritual manifestations. This bred a strong conviction that all of the supernatural "sign gifts" (e.g. tongues, healing, miracles, and in some cases, prophecy) were for today.

  Although charismatic outpourings continued to spread through mainline churches, many denominational leaders left or were kicked out of the traditional churches to start independent churches. Before long, these mushrooming churches came under the influence of Word-Faith/Positive Confession teaching propagated by independent charismatics, such as Hagin, Copeland, Charles Capps, and others. Their main emphasis was faith teaching, divine healing, and financial prosperity. Believers who consistently made a positive confession about their physical and spiritual situation and demonstrated great faith would receive abundant blessings from God.

  Another movement to rise up during the Charismatic Movement became known as the "Shepherding" or "discipleship" movement. This movement grew out of the Latter-Rain/Charismatic tradition and attained its greatest impetus during the mid-1970s. Shepherding arose out of a concern for effective discipleship and put great emphasis on the need for submission to spiritual leaders. Shepherdship is often still an oppressive system in which a person who often perceives himself as an immature Christian submits himself to the leading of an "elder." The elders (shepherds) are appointed in much the same way as in other hierarchies, with one submitting to the next higher in a chain of command.    Total discipline is imposed on those who submit themselves to an elder. His leadership is total, even extending over the person's family life. Failure to obey the shepherd can lead to disapproval, verbal condemnation, and ultimately being put out of the fellowship. The most significant aspect of the unbiblical shepherding system is that one person submits his will completely to another individual, the shepherd or elder.

  The movement originated from the ministry of five teachers out of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida -- Bob Mumford, Charles Simpson, Derek Prince, Don Basham, and Ern Baxter (a Branham disciple). By the late-1970s the Shepherding movement caused a deep split within charismatic circles because of the strict control many shepherds exercised over their members. By the mid-1980s, the term "shepherding" was dropped since the movement gained a bad reputation for its  authoritarian abuses. Nevertheless, the "shepherding" concept still thrives in various circles today (e.g., Promise Keepers) under labels such as "mentoring" and "covering" or "covenant relationships." "
and so the Christian. Holy spirit moved Charismatic, Pentecostal growth continues..

Note - Most people are not aware that the Pentecostal Assembly of Canada was formed during their direct  break away from the US Christian Missionary AllianceChurch. And next  both the Alliance Church and the PAC were still  the overall loser as a result . The Alliance Churches now realy too  tends to be a false organization today, for it clearly likes to advocate their members and adherents in real practice to mainly follow after mere men, their own selected leaders and rather not directly the Holy Spirit, Jesus who is still the head of the church... The Alliance Churches thus tends to be a  Church a very one direction, pyramid hierarchical church management  form that has abuses often ossicated with it, mot just thft of designated funds, but dictatorial abuse of mebers and adherents.  In the Alliance Churches God suppsoedly directs the local Church by directing the top man and everyone else through a descending chain of command. This is more like an old testament Moses,  Davdic Kingdom church and not a new testament Church. In the Alliance all power is mainly invested in the top man and those delegated at his sole discretion. No doctrine, ordination, or major decision can be made in the Church without authorization from the "earthly heads." The Alliance Churches hierarchical form of government in this Church is thus  the false belief that God works primarily through one man and one man alone. Jesus in reality alone is still the head of the Church and note this reality check that he Jesus still equips, leads and guides all of it's members still too. Many Alliance Church members leave next to Baptist oriented now Pentecostal churches such as the PAC  too with very weak elders  Both are  realy bad dictatorial churches even in my own personal 10 years of real experiences. Their false one man ministry approach mostly is used and  it is not the proper New testament structure at all. It is the devil's structure that is used too often in the Alliance Church firstly. As those persons who really do know the New Testament  also do still know all Church submission is not enforceable, it is reciprocal, mutual as well, and the leadership of the church was plural, elderistic.

The WHOLE Church is to also encourage the personal development of all of gifts of the Holy Spirit, especially Biblically based, supported prophecy, even by a Biblical praise and worship service even allowing Emphasis on personal and directive prophecy. Often instead what we hear, see instead are messages, sermons, books even on Unsubstantiated still further prophecy of  future events .

Thus for very good reasons still "Beloved" I often do not believe in EVERYTHING I read, hear and ESPECIALLY IN so called Christian BOOKS, TV, TAPES, AND ESPECIALLY ON THE INTERNET, or everything I may want to believe in fact. I seem to find also many Christian Internet sites that preach openly hatred of Pentecostals, charismatic, or they go to extreme on their denominational lines,  all where you still have to separate the meat from  the bones.. EVEN cause they are still wrongfully mixed with truths and half truths, lies, where the facts being presented as the  truth but are still not substantiated Biblically, rather they are an isolated, distorted,  one man's interpretation of the Bible.

And just cause a person tells me one truth does not indicate now that everything else that they do point out next is the truth still.  Real, live, genuine bait is still the best way to catch even fish, suckers.. so do always watch out.

I  also do believe in the existance today of  Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers healings, miracles too but I also do have a need for discernment and wisdom with regard to any of them as well.

 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Malachi 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall

Arise, shine; for thy light is come. . . (Isaiah 60:1)

Note if you want to be personally blessed, do good, even to others and do try to keep all of God's laws then.. No matter how much I do still say it many people still do not do it know the Bible or do not follow it.. I have often said spend more time in getting to know God's words directly, read the Bible more.. and do not rather read what the still mostly liars do say about the Bible, and anything else they say. Men's opinions are useless to God's real, whole truth still too! Let God interpret, teach you his word  and not the mostly mere, useless men and women. Stop praising mere men and women, praise God and worship him alone.. and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.

(Isa 66:2 KJV)  For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

ONCE YOU ARE SAVED, that is still just the beginning of YOUR  Christian walk, SERVICE FOR JESUS CHRIST.. THERE ARE STILL MANY MAJOR  BATTLES TO BE FOUGHT: IT IS CALLED SPIRITUAL WARFARE. Not only will Satan will still try to keep you Praying,  from reading your Bible, which  is your spiritual warfare instruction manual. It covers everything you need to know. Read it daily , study it, hear it, meditate on it, and obey it.   There is always also the strife between people even in society, in the churches today. There are even battles between the false preachers, elders and the true believers.. There are also still false  arguments in Bible studies, and in church business and church planning meetings. You have to be prepared for it.

(Isa 29:13 KJV)  Wherefore the Lord said, For as much as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

Don't  firstly  even be under the false illusion that Satan no longer opposes or does not try to discredit today  any Christian truth.. he will do so instantly, and even use one of his followers to do it too, and they will quote even the Bible to do so too. Check first everything with the word of God, the Bible for  yourself. Don't accept the too often false words of mere men and women rather.

- I am next now never surprised that other Evangelicals who I really do now consider as mainly the present century Pharisees, are the hypocrites who oppose the Holy Spirit cause  they  love public attention for themselves, and they do lie and do say " The Charismatic Movement is Dangerous ... Watch Out For It    (Fundamental Evangelistic Association)".. you need to watch out for them rather too.. I also do like how many of these so called experts have never even experienced most of the Holy Spirit gifts they write about..

A free press is a truly a measurable and a rightful beacon for truth and a force for transparency, accountability  and justice; a real understanding of the world too but any free speech is not a valid excuse to deliberately abuse any others.

Please do note many preachers do hate the Charismatic falsely, especially Brethren, Baptist cause they do not have the Holy Spirit like the Charismatic do.. so that does not mean that all charismatic doctrines, views are wrong even if some of them say so.. or that all charismatic Pentecostal preachers are bad.. in reality there are bad charismatic and bad non charismatic preachers in reality.. but generally the NON Charismatic- the NON Pentecostals  clearly mostly do not have the Holy spirit, do not use Holy Spirit gifts and are going in earthy, human strength unlike the Pentecostals.. but in any church still only about 30 percent of the persons are really saved still..

But face it still true that there are true and false sheep, shepherds, the wheat and the tare in every church and in every denomination now too.. even the Catholic, Orthodox, evangelical and Pentecostal ones too.. do also watch out for them.

(Mat 7:15 KJV)  Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16  Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17  Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18  A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19  Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

We  do seem to have these days too many impostors, pretentious pastoral Hirelings, they claim to be Christians, and some of them they appear to Christians on the outside but are not so on the inside..  they wrongfully are still not kind, loving towards others or , humble persons. These  Worldly persons are wrongfully still impressed by the outward appearances, by the big salaries, the big homes, the  big and rich churches.. prestigious positions,  and are not led by God but still rather by self.   The Church today still wrongfully tends to use a secular approach, it sends out request and asks, or begs  for moneys, INSTEAD OF GETTING ON THEIR KNEES AND PRAYING FOR IT. The Church today sadly mostly does not live by faith.

Sadly there are even many persons in the Ministry who see the Ministry as a career, a paying job, where they can earn an income, better themselves financially as well. They are firstly, selfishly,  mainly looking after their own good welfare and not the good welfare of God's flock. Jesus referred to them as false shepherds, Hirelings.

Now too often still  you find yourself afraid to even trust those that call themselves Christians for they too have and do  let you down. Again why be surprised? These are the same type of people that sit in the church ever Sunday, sing there songs, preach, and smile at you and shake your hand hoping you sit in the back away from them. The same ones that see you in a short dress and wrongfully  think I wonder how she is in bed, while they shake your hand and smile and say oh God is so good, and its so good to see you. They hope you go to the choir and sit on the front bench and they too do  forget to put your knees together when you sit down. They are the same women that may flirt with you with their eyes and hold your hand to long, the ones that you know and so does anyone else paying attention is also in trouble at home with her hubby. They never talk, never are together and body language says for all to hear, I wish he would sit some place besides by me. O.K. I’m being blunt and honest, let me go ahead, if I’m going to be in trouble let me go all the way. There really is nothing good in most men and women in reality.. beware of men.

 I want you also  to remember always  that some persons do still have a false, visible or hidden  agenda, for hopeful personal economic gains, power, and even THE FALSE oppression of others and that is why they do misinterpret the Bible to their now falls inclinations  including the books of  Paul, Revelation and Joel, the bad elders, pastors included. It should be very obvious that many Bible verses do warn, state the reality of a personal negative consequences here one earth next for those who do not follow fully after God, for those who do not care about the good welfare of others, do not help the poor and needy persons, to all those persons who counsel divorce as well, twist the word of God too.... and yes there are real negative personal consequences here on earth as well as in heaven. The issue of gifts often does sirs up controversy, the kind that Satan is behind it.. he wants it all to be still  a secret too. (Rom 14:1 KJV)  Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.

(John 10:12 KJV)  But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.13  The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. 14   I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

We literally still personally have the option of having God's fire or hell's fire or both by our choices, actions and decisions. If we knowingly and presumptuously disobey the word of God spoken by prophets or His Spirit and do evil and sin, we will pay with judgment and possibly be cast into hell. These are not the words of a man but of Jesus and the God who is God and there is no other. God's word is clear on the matter:

For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? :For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The LORD will judge His people." It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (Hebrews 10:11-26)

No matter who were are God is not a respecter of persons and if we sin willfully under grace there is no forgiveness but a certain fearful expectation of judgment and fiery indignation. God will repay those who hurt and touch one of His little ones and He will judge His people. As Korah and others have found out it will not be a pleasant thing and the fire might get very hot.

(Deu 11:14 KJV)  That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.

(Deu 32:29 KJV)  O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

(Job 8:7 KJV)  Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.

(Job 29:23 KJV)  And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.

(Job 42:12 KJV)  So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.

(Prov 16:15 KJV)  In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain.

(Prov 19:20 KJV)  Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.

(Isa 41:22 KJV)  Let them bring them forth, and show us what shall happen: let them show the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.

(Jer 3:3 KJV)  Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore's forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.

(Jer 5:24 KJV)  Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.

(Jer 23:20 KJV)  The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.

(Dan 2:28 KJV)  But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;

(Hosea 3:5 KJV)  Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.

(Hosea 6:3 KJV)  Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

(Joel 2:23 KJV)  Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

(Hag 2:9 KJV)  The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.

(Zec 10:1 KJV)  Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.

(1 Tim 4:1 KJV)  Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

(2 Pet 2:20 KJV)  For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

(James 5:7 KJV)  Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

  "HOW TO ASCERTAIN THE WILL OF GOD

  • 1. I seek at the beginning to get my heart into such a state that it has no will of its own in regard to a given matter. Nine-tenths of the trouble with people generally is just here. Nine-tenths of the difficulties are overcome when our hearts are ready to do the LORD's will, whatever it may be. When one is truly in this state, it is usually but a little way to the knowledge of what His will is.
  • 2. Having done this, I do not leave the result to feeling or simple impression. If so, I make myself liable to great delusions.
  • 3. I seek the Will of the Spirit of God through, or in connection with, the Word of God. The Spirit and the Word must be combined. If I look to the Spirit alone without the Word, I lay myself open to great delusions also. If the Holy Ghost guides us at all, He will do it according to the Scriptures and never contrary to them."
George Mueller 1805-1898  --from the classic biography of George Mueller, "George Müller of Bristol," ---New Window by A. T. Pierson ---New Window, Appendix N: "The Wise Sayings of George Mueller" ---New Window

Philippines 1:2-21 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
